FCCA receiving an award

In early 1989, a group of Chinese-American residents in the Fullerton Coyote Hills area began to notice a gradual increase of Chinese-American population in the area. They realized the need to organize the Chinese-American community beyond casual friendship by forming a united organization and to establish a Chinese School to educate the next generation.

Under the leadership of Mr. Robert Feng, a non-profit organization was established, and it was named the Fullerton Chinese Cultural Association. Mr. Feng then served as the first Association Chairperson. Mr. Cary Chow was given the task to organize a Chinese School. In September 1989, the Fullerton Chinese School officially began on the campus of Sunny Hills High School. Mr. Chow served as the first school Principal.

The Association and the Chinese School continued to grow throughout the years. Under the leadership of succeeding Chairpersons and school Principals, and the enthusiasm and support of members and parents, the Association has successfully carried out its mission of uniting the Chinese-American community and provides Chinese education.
